Things have changed. The place Ankit Kalkar lives in now is far away from civilization; both in space and time. Rather, it lies in a different time zone altogether. Somewhere close to GMT+1:00 would be more like it. So he sleeps at 5 in the morning, and somehow manages to get to his 9am class on time. Yes. That is right. He does get to his classes on time here. So this episode of this very popular series is an account of all that is new, and all that has changed. Here we go.
1. Trying to sleep @ MICA is like desperately trying to hook up with your ex. You know there are feelings and you know you need it badly. But the truth is that it has somehow become your past and there's no way you're getting it back now.
2. Getting out of this place for lunches/dinners/mugs and buckets/shampoo sachets blows holes of the size of a football in his pockets. If you ever visit him here, make sure you pay for his dinner. It'll be nothing less than charity.
3. Not only has he started answering calls on his phone, but has also started making calls to old friends to reconnect. And as if that wasn't enough, all call durations are somewhere between 30-50 minutes on an average! I know you're pinching yourself right now. But this is no dream. Try calling him. You'll know.
4. Yes, the breakfast at the mess is killer. But when was the last time you sat down to eat some? In the little time you have between getting up late and getting to your class on time, you can only grab a few slices of bread and make the run.
5. The food @ MICA (Mess+MICAfe+Chhota) makes up for everything else that you miss in here, which is a good thing, because after all, as some enlightened souls here believe, "Food is an important part of a balanced diet". And yes for the biryani they served in the mess last Sunday, Bhai Waah!
6. Communications is secondary. But everyone's good at badminton.
7. The movie screening club is the most important one around. For all reasons known and unknown.
8. Beware of the SLRs.
9. And finally, "Everyone at MICA is busy doing what he/she was born to do." - a certain infamous MICAn.
